Cookie Policy
This page describes the cookies that spotlive.live sets in your browser. We try to keep this list short on principle — fewer cookies means fewer ways for you and us to misunderstand each other.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store. The browser sends the file back with each subsequent request. Cookies are not programs; they cannot read other files on your computer or do anything beyond carrying the value the website asked them to carry.
The cookies we set
Functional
One cookie, named spotlive_cc. It records whether you have responded to the cookie banner ("accepted" or "rejected"). It is stored locally and expires after twelve months. Without it, you would see the consent banner on every page load — which is annoying and which is the only reason this cookie exists.
Analytics
None. We do not run a web analytics tool. Aggregate request counts are derived from server logs that contain no cookie identifiers.
Marketing / advertising
None. We do not run advertising and have no third-party advertising scripts on the site.
Third-party cookies
Our pages embed Google Fonts for typography. Google Fonts can set cookies on requests to its asset domain. We pass display=swap to limit caching impact and do not transmit any reader identifier. If you prefer to avoid this entirely, you can install a font-blocking browser extension; the site will fall back to system fonts gracefully.
Local storage
The same value (spotlive_cc) may also be stored in your browser's local storage if cookies are restricted in your browser settings. Local storage is not transmitted to us; it is read in your browser only.
Changing your mind
You can revisit your cookie choice at any time using the small gear button in the bottom-left corner of any page after you have responded to the banner. Selecting "Reject" prevents anything beyond the strictly functional banner-state value.
How to clear cookies
You can clear cookies for spotlive.live at any time through your browser's settings. The exact path depends on your browser; popular options:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data → See all site data → search "spotlive".
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data → search "spotlive".
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data → search "spotlive".
Updates
If we ever introduce additional cookies, we will list them here, prompt you again with the consent banner, and explain in our weekly editorial update what changed and why.
